Adults are found among large brown algae in rock pools and subtidal areas. They feed on algal dwelling crustaceans and small fish (Ref. 9003). Eggs are hemispherical and covered with numerous sticky threads that anchor them in the algae on the nesting sites (Ref. 240). Larvae are planktonic which occur primarily in shallow, nearshore waters (Ref. 94114).

Notoclinus fenestratus es una especie de pez de la familia Tripterygiidae en el orden de los Perciformes.
Morfología
• Los machos pueden llegar alcanzar los 18,2 cm de longitud total.[1][2]
Alimentación
Come crustáceos y peces pequeños.
Hábitat
Es un pez de mar y de clima subtropical y demersal que vive entre 0-15 m de profundidad.
Distribución geográfica
Se encuentran en Nueva Zelanda.
Observaciones
Es inofensivo para los humanos.
