American Holly

Ilex opaca (American Holly) is a species of tree in the family Aquifoliaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, North America, Eastern North America, and United States. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Andrena carolina, Lasioglossum quebecense, tumbling flower beetle, and Lasioglossum versatum. Individuals can grow to 40 feet.
