Physalis peruviana (Peruvian Groundcherry) is a species of shrub in the family nightshades. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia. They have simple, simple leaves. Flowers are visited by European wool carder bee. Individuals can grow to 1.3 m.
