Physalis peruviana (Peruvian Groundcherry) is a species of shrub in the family nightshades. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, and Peru. They have simple, broad leaves and berries. Individuals can grow to 1.3 m.
