Centaurea calcitrapa (Red Star Thistle) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Flowers are visited by Vosnesensky Bumble Bee, Tharsalea helloides, Eastern Bath White, and Argynnis pandora. Individuals can grow to 0.36 m.
