Centaurea scabiosa (Greater Knapweed) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves and achene. Flowers are visited by Argynnis, Scaeva selenitica, essex skipper, and Platycheirus peltatus. Individuals can grow to 0.72 m.
