Dioscorea (Yam) is a genus of perennial herb in the family Dioscoreaceae. They are climbers. They are native to Puerto Rico, The Contiguous United States, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada. They have capsule fruit.
