Aster (Aster) is a genus of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They are native to Serbia, Azerbaijan, Western Australia, San Marino, Turkey, Croatia, Slovenia, Crimea, Canada, Albania, Switzerland, Gibraltar, Gruziya, Ukraine, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Greece, Montenegro, Channel Islands, Romania, Spain, Hungary, Armenia, Morocco, Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Monaco, Macedonia, Liechtenstein, Alaska, Andorra, Italy, Austria, Bulgaria, France, Moldova, The Contiguous United States, Belgium, Vatican City, Germany, Nakhchivan, and Poland. They have achenes. Flowers are visited by Common Eastern Bumblebee, Transverse Flower Fly, Tricolored Bumble Bee, and drone fly. Individuals can grow to 0.85 m.
