La Phyllanthus acutifolius, o più comunemente nota come Quebra-pedra in portoghese (in italiano rompi-pietre) è una pianta spontanea del Sud-Est del Brasile che viene utilizzata per eliminare i calcoli: non deve essere confusa con Phyllanthus niruri usata anch'essa per scopi curativi.
La specie è stata classificata inizialmente nel 1821 da Kurt Sprengel e in seguito da Jean Louis Marie Poiret [2].
La specie è endemica nella Serra da Mantiqueira, Regione Sudest del Brasile.
Si presenta come un arbusto di 50–80 cm d'altezza, foglie ellittiche e con organi maschili e femminili in fiori separati [3].
