Type locality: Littoral of Baltic Sea, Germany
Attached to intestinal epithelium of brackish or saltwater oligochaete (Paranais litoralis). Also reported from freshwater, free-living among Chara and Utricularia.

Body roughly cylindrical, with pseudosegments in juveniles. Foot abruptly offset from trunk, one pseudosegment, small, conical, acute, bent ventrally, motile. Toes absent. Integument occasionally pilose (fungi ?).
Length c. 220 µm.
Albertia crystallina is een soort in de taxonomische indeling van de raderdieren (Rotifera).
Het dier behoort tot het geslacht Albertia en behoort tot de familie Dicranophoridae. De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort werd voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1851 door Schultze.
