Asparagus officinalis (Garden Asparagus) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asparagaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Armenia, Lebanon, Hungary, Tunisia, Greece, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, Algeria, Iran, France, Turkey, Russia, Yugoslavia, Poland, Afghanistan, Romania, Moldova, Denmark, Morocco, Spain, Georgia, The Netherlands, Albania, Belgium, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, China, Mongolia, Germany, Syria, and Austria. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Texas Agapostemon, Gonochrysis, Neotrypetes, and Sphecodium. Individuals can grow to 0.69 m.
