They are native to ParaíBa, AmazôNia, Pernambuco, Amapá, Pará, Mato Grosso, Mata AtlâNtica, Rio De Janeiro, Caatinga, Roraima, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Cerrado, SãO Paulo, Espirito Santo, Santa Catarina, Acre (Brazil), and RondôNia. They have compound, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Xylocopa darwini and Large Carpenter Bees. Individuals can grow to 12 m.
