They are native to Pará, Minas Gerais, Maranhao, Cerrado, Piauí, Rio De Janeiro, Mato Grosso Do Sul, GoiáS, The Contiguous United States, Sergipe, Mato Grosso, AmazôNia, Acre (Brazil), U.S. Virgin Islands, Alagoas, SãO Paulo, Distrito Federal, ParaíBa, Ceará, Roraima, Rio Grande Do Sul, Pernambuco, Amapá, Bahia, Paraná, RondôNia, Mata Atlântica, Pantanal, and Puerto Rico. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 30 m.
