They are native to Pará, Minas Gerais, Maranhao, Cerrado, Piauí, Rio De Janeiro, Mato Grosso Do Sul, GoiáS, Sergipe, Mato Grosso, AmazôNia, Acre (Brazil), Alagoas, SãO Paulo, Distrito Federal, ParaíBa, Puerto Rico, Ceará, Roraima, Rio Grande Do Sul, Pernambuco, Amapá, Bahia, Paraná, RondôNia, Mata AtlâNtica, Pantanal, The Contiguous United States, and U.S. Virgin Islands. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 30 m.
