Description

Shrub or rarely a small, multi-stemmed tree, armed with strong straight thorns, up to 8 cm. Leaves in fascicles, often on the spines, elliptic to obovate, 1-5 cm long, softly textured and finely hairy, Midrib raised on both surfaces; margin shallowly crenate. Flowers in axillary clusters, often on the spines, white or cream, c. 1 cm in diameter. Fruit 3-lobed, c. 5 mm in diameter, persistent styles forming 3 points, orange-pink, dehiscent.
