Tusequi is native to Mato Grosso do Sul, Amazônia, Goiás, Amazônia, Piauí, Mato Grosso, Cerrado, Maranhao, Tocantins, Pantanal, Pará, Alagoas, Acre (Brazil), Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina, Piauí, Amazônia, Espirito Santo, Pernambuco, Paraná, Rondônia, Caatinga, Amazônia, Maranhao, Bahia, Tocantins, Rio de Janeiro, Pará, Mata Atlântica, Cerrado, Paraíba, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Norte, Pantanal, Ceará, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, and Sergipe. It has compound, broad leaves. It fixes nitrogen. Tusequi is a photoautotroph.
