Pteris (Brake Fern) is a genus of herb in the family Pteridaceae. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Hawaii, U.S. Virgin Islands, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and US Minor Outlying Islands. They have pinnate leaves. They have alternation of generations.
