Equisetum fluviatile (Water Horsetail) is a species of perennial herb in the family horsetails. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to North America, Canada, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, The Contiguous United States, Western North America, and Alaska. They have simple, photosynthetic stem leaves and green flowers. Individuals can grow to 3 feet. They have alternation of generations.
