Adiantum capillus-veneris (Maidenhair Fern) is a species of perennial herb in the family Pteridaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are listed as endangered by COSEWIC. They are native to Rio Grande Do Sul, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Eastern North America, Canada, Mata Atlântica, and The Contiguous United States. They have compound, broad leaves and white flowers. Individuals can grow to 1.7 feet. They have alternation of generations.
