They are native to Bahia, Acre (Brazil), Santa Catarina, Espirito Santo, AmazôNia, Pará, Roraima, RondôNia, Pernambuco, Amapá, Mata Atlântica, Alagoas, Paraná, Mato Grosso, SãO Paulo, Puerto Rico, Rio De Janeiro, Rio Grande Do Sul, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Ceará. They have compound, broad leaves. They have alternation of generations.
