They are native to Ceará, Amapá, AmazôNia, Mato Grosso, South America, Roraima, Acre (Brazil), Piauí, Caatinga, Maranhao, Tocantins, RondôNia, and Pará. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 32 m.
