Virola surinamensis (Baboonwood) is a species of tree in the family Myristicaceae. They are listed as endangered by IUCN. They are native to Mato Grosso, RondôNia, Amazônia, Roraima, Caatinga, Acre (Brazil), Maranhao, Tocantins, Amapá, Pará, South America, Piauí, and Ceará. Flowers are visited by Camponotus femoratus, Spiny-legged Stingless bee, and Honey bee.
