Sassafras albidum (Mitten Tree) is a species of shrub in the family Lauraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Canada, Eastern North America, and United States. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Leptometopa latipes, Sargus viridis, (page not found), and Psilota buccata. Individuals can grow to 75 feet.
