Equisetum telmateia (Great Horsetail) is a species of perennial herb in the family horsetails. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States and Canada. They have simple, photosynthetic stem leaves. Flowers are visited by Didea fasciata, Platycheirus rosarum, Melanostoma mellina, and Syritta pipiens. Individuals can grow to 1.1 m. They have alternation of generations.
