Cyathea pungens (Spiny Tree Fern) is a species of tree in the family scaly tree ferns. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are native to Mata Atlântica, Puerto Rico, Cerrado, Roraima, Pará, RondôNia, Acre (Brazil), and Amazônia. They have pinnate leaves. They have alternation of generations.
