Silene dioica (Red Catchfly) is a species of perennial herb in the family carpetweeds. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by small white, Common Banded Hoverfly, Pipiza noctiluca, and Small tortoiseshell. Individuals can grow to 0.25 m.
