Amaranthus spinosus (Spiny Amaranth) is a species of shrub in the family pigweed. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by alfalfa lygus, Sarcophaga sinuata, Cynomyia, and Chelynia. Individuals can grow to 0.87 m.
