They are native to Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, The Neotropics, Florida, and The Contiguous United States. They have simple, broad leaves, white flowers, and achene. Flowers are visited by Honey bee, Phocides pigmalion, White-tipped Black, and Ruddy Daggerwing. Individuals can grow to 11 m.
