Ceiba pentandra (Kapoktree) is a species of tree in the family Malvaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Pará, AmazôNia, Acre (Brazil), Maranhao, and Roraima. They have compound, broad leaves and white flowers. Flowers are visited by Indian Flying Fox, Insular Flying Fox, Pemba Flying Fox, and Little Flying Cow. Individuals can grow to 150 feet.
