Ochroma pyramidale (Balsa) is a species of tree in the family Malvaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to AmazôNia, Puerto Rico, Pará, and Acre (Brazil). They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by highland yellow-shouldered bat. Individuals can grow to 30 m.
