Passiflora edulis (Passion Fruit) is a species of plants in the family Passifloraceae. It is a climber. It is native to Espirito Santo, Paraná, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Cerrado, São Paulo, Distrito Federal, Amazônia, Ceará, Amazônia, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraíba, Goiás, Pantanal, Santa Catarina, Sergipe, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio Grande do Sul, Pará, Caatinga, Piauí, Tocantins, Mata Atlântica, Bahia, Alagoas, and Maranhao. Passion Fruit has simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Xylocopa augusti Lepeletier 1841. Passion Fruit is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 6 m.
