Ludwigia erecta is a species of shrub in the family Onagraceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is native to Puerto Rico, the contiguous United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Goiás, Cerrado, Pernambuco, Paraíba, Pará, Ceará, Mata Atlântica, Bahia, Pantanal, Espirito Santo, Maranhao, Roraima, Amapá, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Alagoas, Caatinga, Amazônia, Minas Gerais, Sergipe, São Paulo, Amazônia, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, and Rondônia. It has simple, broad leaves. It is a photoautotroph.
