Heracleum sphondylium (Eltrot) is a species of perennial herb in the family umbellifers. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Western North America. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by silver-washed fritillary, House fly, Ashy mining bee, and Tenthredo amoena. Individuals can grow to 1.1 m.
