They are native to Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina. They have simple, simple leaves. Flowers are visited by Southern Carpenter Bee, Icaricia acmon, Danaus plexippus, and Anise Swallowtail.
