Stem and branches glabrous, the inflorescence-rachis and pedicels pubescent ; leafblades ovate to oval, 2-5 cm. long, acute or rounded and mucronate at the apex, glabrous, paler green beneath than above, short-petioled ; racemes rather many-flowered, mostly 5-9 cm. long ; sepals ovate, 2-2.5 mm. long, the glands reflexed, as long as the sepal-body or longer, cuneate ; corolla yellow, 10-12 mm. wide, the shorter petals with orbicular or ovate-orbicular blades, the larger petals mostly spatulate ; mature carpels 2-2.5 mm. wide, the plumose bristles numerous, mostly 8-11 mm. long.
Type locality : Matanzas, Cuba. Distribution : Cuba.
