Cuphea melvilla is a species of shrub in the family Lythraceae. They are native to Amazônia, Amapá, Bahia, SãO Paulo, Tocantins, Distrito Federal, Mata Atlântica, GoiáS, Cerrado, Maranhao, Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Pará, Acre (Brazil), Mato Grosso, RondôNia, Paraná, Minas Gerais, and The Americas. They have capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Rufous-breasted Hermit, Reddish Hermit, and Amazilia fimbriata.
