They are native to Acre (Brazil), Mato Grosso, Paraná, Amazônia, Ceará, Caatinga, Mata Atlântica, Pantanal, Pernambuco, Piauí, Sergipe, Minas Gerais, Pará, RondôNia, Maranhao, Amapá, GoiáS, Puerto Rico, Rio Grande Do Norte, Alagoas, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Distrito Federal, Pampa, SãO Paulo, Cerrado, ParaíBa, U.S. Virgin Islands, Espirito Santo, Rio De Janeiro, Roraima, Bahia, Tocantins, Rio Grande Do Sul, and Santa Catarina. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 14.34 m.
