Ipomoea alba (Moonflower) is a species of annual herb in the family Convolvulaceae. It is a climber. It is native to U.S. Virgin Islands, the contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Minas Gerais, Caatinga, Santa Catarina, Bahia, Amazônia, Paraíba, Espirito Santo, Distrito Federal, Pará, Amazônia, Alagoas, Tocantins, Rondônia, Sergipe, Amapá, Pantanal, Mata Atlântica, Paraná, Cerrado, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande do Norte, Piauí, Roraima, Acre (Brazil), Goiás, Maranhao, Rio de Janeiro, Ceará, Pampa, and São Paulo. Moonflower has simple, broad leaves. It is a photoautotroph.
