Leaves of the caudices 2.5^.5 mm. long, parchment-like, compactly crowded and converging into globular masses, the blades oblong to oblong-spatulate, spine-tipped, ciliate; flower-stalks 1-3.5 cm. tall, slender, finely glandularpubescent, bearing few leaves, much smaller than those of the caudices ; sepals ovate, 1-1.5 mm. long, sparingly .ciliate, obtuse ; petals white or whitish, oblong, 3 mm. long, clawless; filaments subulate; follicles 3-4 mm. long.
Type locality : Kamtschatka. .
Distribution : Mainland and islands in and about Bering Sea ; also in northeastern Asia.
