Body very thin, thickness 3-3.65 in HL. Branched caudal rays 16. Head length 3.8-4.2 in SL (Ref. 48239).

Occurs on sand or sand and rubble bottoms; most were collected from caves or at the entrances (Ref. 13070). Benthic (Ref. 58302).
