Phyllostomus hastatus (Greater Spear Nosed Bat) is a species of bats in the family New World leaf-nosed bats. They are native to The Neotropics. They visit flowers of Brazilian shaving-brush tree and stinkingtoe. They are nocturnal omnivores. Individuals are known to live for 120 months and can grow to 107 mm. They rely on flight to move around.
