Cavia porcellus (Cavy) is a species of rodents in the family guinea pigs. It is native to South American Andes. It is a solitary herbivore. Individuals are known to live for 177.6 months and can grow to 728 g. Reproduction is dioecious. Cavy relies on running to move around.
