Lontra longicaudis (La Plata Otter) is a species of mammals in the family Mustelidae. They are listed as near threatened by IUCN and in cites appendix i. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are found in The Nearctic and The Neotropics. They are solitary carnivores. Individuals can grow to 600.05 mm. Reproduction is dioecious. They rely on running to move around.
