Aronia melanocarpa (Black Chokeberry) is a species of shrub in the family Rosaceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is associated with freshwater habitat. Black Chokeberry is native to Canada, the contiguous United States, eastern north america, and North America. It has simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Northern Paper Wasp. Black Chokeberry is a photoautotroph. Individuals can grow to 2.1 m.
