Aronia melanocarpa (Black Chokeberry) is a species of shrub in the family Rosaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, North America, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Northern Paper Wasp, Alleghany Andrena, Tricolored Bumble Bee, and Syrphus torvus. Individuals can grow to 2.1 m.
