Rusa unicolor (Sambar) is a species of Mammal in the family cervids. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN. They are native to China, India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Laos, Asia, the Palearctic, Taiwan, Bhutan, Cambodia, Brunei, and Vietnam. They are solitary, crepuscular herbivores. Individuals are known to live for 317.04 months and can grow to 2040 mm. Reproduction is viviparous. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on running to move around.
