Channa bankanensis (Bleeker 1853)

Differs from Channa lucius in possessing a round head (vs. pointed), numerous spots on unpaired fins (vs. bars and stripes), reddish-brown life coloration (vs. brownish black) (Ref. 56386).

Potamodromous. Migrating within streams, migratory in rivers, e.g. Saliminus, Moxostoma, Labeo. Migrations should be cyclical and predictable and cover more than 100 km.

Inhabits only in blackwater streams (Ref.56749). A common snakehead in peat swamps (Ref. 56749).
