Unique looking adult with brick-red coloration across back, with beige-and-black bars. Measured: SVL 103 mm (4 in.), TL including original tail 286 mm (11 in.). One biologist commented it looks like a cross between Panamint and Southern Alligator Lizard. On Oct. 2, 2000, small juvenile examined with typical E. multicarinata characteristic broad tan dorsal with no dark crossbars. Belly gray with dark lengthwise stripes down middle of scale rows.
