Manihot esculenta (Cassava) is a species of shrub in the family Euphorbiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Distrito Federal, Ceará, Bahia, Maranhao, Alagoas, SãO Paulo, Mato Grosso, Pernambuco, AmazôNia, Piauí, GoiáS, Cerrado, RondôNia, Pará, Minas Gerais, Acre (Brazil), and Amapá. They have simple, broad leaves and green flowers. Flowers are visited by Thrinchostoma bequaerti and Thrinchostoma productum. Individuals can grow to 10 feet.
