They are native to AmazôNia, Paraná, SãO Paulo, Roraima, Pernambuco, GoiáS, Caatinga, Acre (Brazil), Mata AtlâNtica, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande Do Sul, Cerrado, Minas Gerais, AmazôNia, Mato Grosso, Bahia, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Espirito Santo, Rio De Janeiro, and RondôNia. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 12 m.
