Cyperus haspan (Haspan Flatsedge) is a species of perennial herb in the family sedges. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Maranhao, Caatinga, Ceará, Santa Catarina, Roraima, Amazônia, Mata Atlântica, Rio De Janeiro, Pernambuco, Bahia, Pará, RondôNia, Pantanal, Espirito Santo, Rio Grande Do Sul, Tocantins, The Contiguous United States, GoiáS, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande Do Norte, Alagoas, Minas Gerais, Acre (Brazil), Piauí, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, ParaíBa, Distrito Federal, Amapá, Sergipe, SãO Paulo, Cerrado, Paraná, Puerto Rico, and Pampa. They have simple, broad leaves and brown flowers. Individuals can grow to 0.98 m.
