Cyperus prolixus (Mosquito Flatsedge) is a species of perennial grass in the family sedges. It is associated with freshwater habitat. It is native to Mata Atlântica, Rio Grande do Sul, Roraima, Santa Catarina, Goiás, São Paulo, Paraná, Cerrado, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Espirito Santo, Bahia, Caatinga, Rio de Janeiro, and Amazônia. Mosquito Flatsedge is a photoautotroph.
