Cyperus rotundus (Nutgrass) is a species of perennial herb in the family sedges. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Ceará, Acre (Brazil), Mata AtlâNtica, Roraima, Rio Grande Do Norte, Alagoas, AmazôNia, Cerrado, AmazôNia, Paraná, Santa Catarina, ParaíBa, Minas Gerais, Pará, Amapá, SãO Paulo, Caatinga, Tocantins, Rio De Janeiro, Sergipe, Rio Grande Do Sul, Espirito Santo, Bahia, GoiáS, Piauí, Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Maranhao, Mato Grosso, Pernambuco, and RondôNia. They have simple, simple leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.68 m.
