They are native to Pará, RondôNia, GoiáS, Tocantins, AmazôNia, Minas Gerais, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Cerrado, Roraima, Puerto Rico, Pernambuco, Acre (Brazil), Maranhao, Caatinga, and Mato Grosso. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.57 m.
